Two flat glass sheets present in LCD TVs are the essential parts. The passage of only certain light wavelengths can occur through these glass sheets. These glass sheets are also termed as substrates due to this ability. The space between the glass sheets of the LCDs is occupied by liquid crystal. Backlight is located in the right position to get easily through the substrate right opposite to the viewer. The electric current which changes often enables the liquid crystal’s movements. Thus, they have the appearance of being transparent in some places and are opaque in some places allowing the penetration of only some light wavelengths.

ATSC tuner is used for getting hold of the over the air broadcasts of HDTV.
The pleasant viewing of LCD TV is due to the combination of response rate and response time. These are useful for providing a clear picture without the blurs. The response rate must be 100hertz and the response time must range in eight minutes. The size of the LCD TVs must be chosen based on the furniture set up of the room and the area where the LCD television has to be placed. The viewing angle of LCD television must also be inspected in the shops while buying.
Majority of the LCD televisions are generally installed as wall hangings. Flat mount is the most famous and cheaper installation method of LCD television. For a perfect view from any point of the room, it is necessary to choose the tilt wall mount which is highly suitable for fireplaces and bedrooms. LCD TV stands are also sold in many electronics shop.
The basic color settings will be provided by the factory in LCD televisions universally. To receive a good quality picture from the newly bought LCD TVs, adjusting the color settings through the menus will be more appropriate. This method is also suitable for viewing the images in close proximity. Images with high stability, clarity and high accuracy can be received from LCD TVs even if the light settings are made at high level.
