Cheap Televisions Are Cheap For A Reason
Cheap TVs are available in all sorts of stores nowadays. Generic-brand televisions are found in discount stores and hardware stores alike. There are companies on the internet claiming they sell the cheapest tvs. The internet is full of companies selling tvs for cheap.
Televisions come in different shapes and sizes. LCD fullscreen tvs come in sizes as small as 9 inches. 19″ to 32″ seems to be the favorite size for fullscreens. Widescreen models are popular in the 32″ to 52″ sizes. Plasma tvs come in sizes as large as 103 inches!
LCD and plasma are the most common types of televisions. There are other types too, but LCD and plasma are currently the favorites. These tvs come in widescreens and fullscreens alike. Some tvs have a rounded screen while still others are flat screened. A consumer can hang their television on the wall now, besides putting it in the usual places, like the floor, a stand, or a table.
The cheapest tvs may only cost a couple hundred pounds for an average size television. They come in alot of different prices. The price usually depends on the size, the style, where it is purchased, (this is especially true of internet purchases), and the make of the tv.
Does it matter what type of tv to buy? LCDs used to come in just a smaller model. Now they come in much bigger sizes and the prices are competitive with plasma tvs. Plasma tvs on the other hand, are well known for their enormous sizes. The two types work completely differently. The plasma tv uses pixel cells, hundreds of thousands of them. The LCD uses liquid crystal filled cells. If buying cheap LCD tvs or cheap plasma tvs, it will not make a difference.
Most cheap televisions are not made to last long. after a few years the tv will begin to have problems. This is generally true of both LCD and plasma tvs. The picture may grow darker, the picture fuzzy and unclear, or it may stop working completely. Taking it to a repair shop is out of the question. The cost of repairing these tvs will usually cost more than the tv is worth.
The owner of the broken television has lost his money; basically, for buying that cheap television set. Now that consumer has to buy another tv which means he has spent double now for buying the cheapest tv he could find. If the consumer buys another cheap tv, the cycle continues. Companies are flourishing on people doing this.
Maybe buying a more expensive, name-brand tv comes out cheaper. A top-brand television will last many years longer than the cheap televisions last. Shop around for top of the line, name-brand televisions on the internet and in the stores. The buyer will find that spending a little extra now will save them money in the long run.
