Cheap LCD And Plasma TVs Are Not A Bargain
Cheap tvs are everywhere these days. In nearly every store the buyer shops in, you will find a generic brand television for sale. You can buy them on the intenet and over the phone. Internet-based companies that sell cheap LCD tvs and cheap plasma tvs are flourishing.
It seems that the favorite sizes for fullscreen TVs are between 19″ and 32″. Widescreen tvs are more popular in a bit larger size with 32″ to 52″ being the favorites. LCD fullscreen tvs come as small as 9 inches while the plasma tvs come in sizes as large as 103 inches!
LCD and plasma are the most common types of televisions. There are other types too, but LCD and plasma are currently the favorites. These tvs come in widescreens and fullscreens alike. Some tvs have a rounded screen while still others are flat screened. A consumer can hang their television on the wall now, besides putting it in the usual places, like the floor, a stand, or a table.
Cheap tvs come in all sorts of prices. Price depends on the make, the style, the size, and where it was purchased. This is especially true when purchased on the internet. A person can buy a cheap tv for a couple hundred pounds.
It will not make a difference whether the consumer buys a plasma tv or an LCD tv. Cheap is cheap. There are major differences; however, in the way the two are made. A plasma tv has hundreds of thousands of individual pixel cells. Pixel cells allow electric pulses to excite special natural gases, like neon and xenon, making them glow. The LCD tv uses liquid-crystal filled cells. The crystals will untwist when hit with an electrical charge to filter white light provided by a lamp.
After a few years problems start to arise with cheap LCD televisions and cheap plasma televisions. The picture may grow darker or start to shrink, the picture may become fuzzy or unclear, or it may not work at all anymore. Having it repaired is an option if the owner wants to spend more than what the television is worth.
That leaves the option of buying another tv. The consumer basically lost the money spent on the first tv and now more good money must be paid for another television. It seems like the buyer has paid double. If the consumer buys another cheap tv, the cycle keeps continuing. The cheap comes out expensive. Companies are making big bucks on people doing this.
Perhaps it would be better to spend more money on a tv and get a top-brand one. Granted they are more expensive, or are they? In the long run buying a Name brand tv will come out cheaper. They will last much longer than cheap tvs. Consumers should shop around for top-brand televisions.
