Leica V-Lux 3 megazoom announced (cnet)
The German camera maker has released its latest bridge camera, a rebadged
Panasonic Lumix, with free Adobe software thrown in. (Credit: Leica)Leica has
unveiled its latest megazoom bridge camera, the V-Lux 3. One of the key
features is its 24x optical zoom range, which gives the V-Lux 3 a whopping
25mm to 600mm zoom range. Equipped with a 12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor, the
camera also records full-HD video in 1080p/60i and is capable of shooting 12
frames per second at full resolution.Other features include of a fully
articulating LCD screen, which should help shutterbugs capture images with
unique perspectives. There’s also a side lever that allows control of the lens
zoom function, freeing the user to control the shutter button with the right
hand.Like its other compact cameras, the V-Lux 3 is really a Panasonic Lumix.
Leica, in another one of its rebadging exercises, took the FZ150 and stamped
its iconic red logo on it.Available only in black, the V-Lux 30 will come with
the latest, full versions of Adobe’s Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements.
